Foodtopia is a “project of resilient local economy” which combines agricultural production, food processing and distribution of food in the geography of a neighborhood; with the aim of reducing in a half the current price of food and its direct and indirect side effects, through a drastic reduction of energy consumption throughout the food production chain.

Each Spanish citizen produces an average of 547 kg of waste per year. Approximately 50kg are packaging. In Foodtopia, we promote the customer to provide the container and cutlery, avoiding plastics waste.

No food system can be maintained indefinitely when it wastes half of what it produces, because the ecological cost cannot be afforded. We have developed a logistics km0 that prevents food waste in between producers and distributors.

“Food” is an essential and universal good, yet to democratize, and “real generator” of social exclusion. We want to transform a world in which 60% of health pathologies depend on the low quality of food intake, resulting in an unsustainable health care expenditure. Food accounts for 40% of climatic anomalies and 30% of world consumption of energy, mostly fossil.

Barcelona restauración sostenible


El teniente de alcaldía de Empresa, Cultura e Innovación, Jaume Collboni, y la concejal de Comercio y Mercados, Montserrat Ballarin, firmaron a finales del mes pasado (2016) un acuerdo marco de colaboración entre el Ayuntamiento de Barcelona, entidades y sindicatos para impulsar el sector de la restauración en la ciudad.
